Homecraft Rolyan acquires Mobilis Healthcare Group

Homecraft Rolyan, the UK-based supplier of therapy and paediatric products to hospitals, local authorities and retailers, has acquired the specialist medical sports healthcare group Mobilis Healthcare.

The acquisition is intended to aid Homecraft's expansion into the global rehabilitation supplies and equipment market.

Homecraft is a wholly-owned business of Patterson Companies Inc, a US corporation that serves the dental, veterinary and medical markets, with annual sales approaching US$3bn (£2.04bn, 2.25bn euro).

Based in Nottinghamshire, Homecraft Rolyan's strong presence in the rehabilitation and occupational therapy markets generates annual sales of around £28m, with its export business representing almost a third of its total turnover. Among the consumer brands it distributes is the TanniandAnni range of adaptive clothing, created by British wheelchair athlete Dame Tanni Grey Thomson.

Mobilis Healthcare has a strong customer base that includes NHS and private hospitals, independent practitioners and leading football, cricket and rugby clubs and associations. Its brands include Neen pelvic healthcare, Sorbothane impact cushioning insoles, Vulkan sports supports and Enraf-Nonius electrotherapy and rehabilitation equipment, while its sports ambassadors include international rugby union stars Lewis Moody and Aurélien Rougerie and cricketer Matthew Hoggard.
